Why Jazz and Wine? Why Not?

Jazz and wine are two art forms that are intrinsically related. The musician who instinctively knows what notes to play, how long to hold those notes, how his playing blends with the playing of his companions, to be pleasing to the ear, is not that far removed from the winemakers knowledge of the ripeness of his grapes, what kind of barrels to use, and how to blend wines to be pleasing to the palate.

There is also an elitism that occasionally accompanies both jazz and wine appreciation, and we hope to help further the cause of demystifying both. Jazz and wine are two of life's most pleasant gifts to mankind, and enjoying them should be no more difficult than turning a corkscrew, or the knobs on your stereo.

In future newsletter columns, we will spotlight delicious wines you may have otherwise missed, in brief yet informative reviews. For on the jazz-wine connection, and to find wines that go hand in hand with your favorite music, check out our Jazz Uncorked.
