Food: This Is Not a Miracle
Torna Food, il duo di fine anni Novanta (nato però come quartetto) composto dall'alchimista sonoro Thomas Strønen, dal sassofonista Iain Ballamy a cui si aggiunge qui il chitarrista Christian Fennesz. La formazione che ha sformato un'avventura sonora completamente differente dalla precedente ogni qual volta ha deciso di entrare in studio di registrazione, in questa occasione incrocia le suggestioni che dalla Gran Bretagna portano alla Svezia dando vita a un nuovo visionario capitolo.

Undici brani per comporre e ricomporre l'orizzonte, per fondere le (ormai diradate e molto vaporose tracce di jazz) in un mélange di elettronica, musica sperimentale a base di pattern percussivi, spore di glitch minimalissima e trasparente, il cui nitore viene bilanciato soltanto dai caldi inserimenti atmosferici del sassofono di Ballamy. Un distillato musicale che prende letteralmente il largo grazie al vecchio Moog di "First Sorrow"—fra echi progressivi anni Settanta —, si innalza con le evocative ed eteree "Where Dry Desert Ends" e "This Is Not a Miracle," assume colorazioni acide con "Sinking Gardens Of Babylon, respira in larghe suggestioni cosmiche in "Death Of Niger."

La prima manciata di composizioni fa da matrice alla creazione delle tracce successive, dove le vie percorse fino a quel punto dal trio, si inerpicano su sentieri differenti ma paralleli, alla ricerca della variazione sensibile che fa di This Is Not a Miracle un'esperienza musicale immersiva e totalizzante, definendo confini lontani lontani di un universo in piena evoluzione.
