"La superficie di un oggetto" è, nella sua apparente ovvietà, il primo contatto con l'oggetto stesso, sia dal punto di vista visivo che tattile. Ed è anche il primo passo di un viaggio che sensi solerti e curiosi possono intraprendere verso la scoperta della realtà nascosta. Giacomo Merega, Michael Attias e Satoshi Takeishi sanno bene come affrontare questa esperienza sensoriale e il disco in questione ne è una chiara dimostrazione.

Le superfici delle composizioni, apparentemente lisce, senza falle o increspature, quasi impalpabili nella loro essenzialità, vengono lentamente ma inesorabilmente scandagliate, così da portare in superficie (ancora) inaspettate imperfezioni, sorprendenti risonanze, suggestive evocazioni.

È un sottile interagire di percezioni, dove il non detto prevale sul manifestarsi palese, dove le allusioni permettono interpretazioni e rievocazioni personali, dove i musicisti intessono una trama di relazioni in bilico tra pudore e profondo rispetto.

Gli strumenti vengono accarezzati a fatti risuonare nelle loro corde più intime, senza manierismi di sorta e senza concessioni a possibili sentimentalismi. Musica cerebrale, cameristica, e magari senza un cuore palpitante? Potrebbe anche essere, ma musica sicuramente coraggiosa che non può lasciare indifferenti.
