The Jazzschool Adult Big Band

Led by renowned saxophonist {{m: Dave Le Febvre = 31758}} (Associate Director UC Jazz Ensembles 1984-89; performed with Joe Williams and Don Ellis), The Jazzschool Adult Big Band is a stellar 18 piece ensemble with many composers, arrangers and world class soloists. The band has been going strong since 2001. In addition to featuring classic compositions and arrangements by Thad Jones-Mel Lewis, Count Basie, Bob Brookmeyer, etc. the band features many original compositions from its members -- Dave LeFebvre, Jereld Wing, Heikki Koskinen, Jon Randall, {{m: Jeff Rzepiela = 15235}}, Michael Peloquin, and David Busing. The band features: Saxophones: Jeff Rzepiela - alto sax John Douglas - alto sax Bert Carelli - tenor sax Bryan Mendez - tenor sax Michael Peloquin - baritone sax Trombones: Jereld Wing - trombone Carol Moen Wing - trombone/bass clarinet Dan Siegel - trombone George Gaebler - trombone Trumpets: David Busing - trumpet Dan Fava - trumpet James Tinsley - trumpet, piccolo trumpet Scott Armacost - trumpet Rhythm Section: Heikki Koskinen - piano Jon Randall- bass Darren Liccardo - drums Michael McCarthy - guitar Founded in 1997, the Jazzschool is located in the historic Kress Building on the northwest corner of Shattuck and Addison streets, situated in the heart of the burgeoning Downtown Berkeley Arts District.
