Syrinx Effect

Syrinx Effect is Kate Olson and Naomi Siegel - a duo that plays contemporary, improvised chamber music with electronics. Naomi plays trombone with guitar pedals and Kate plays soprano saxophone with laptop and other toys. The duo got their start curating the Racer Sessions in Seattle, and have gone on to perform prolifically in the Seattle area, collaborating with many of the mainstays of the Northwest jazz and improvised music scenes. Syrinx Effect makes music that is authentic and expressive, employing everything from simple folk melodies to abstract, ambient noise.
