Santy Roque Medina completed his music studies at the Real conservatorium of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Classical direction) 1976-1985, continuing on to studies at the Las palmas Jazz Academy Main Subject: Guitar and Harmony.During those years he played in different ensembles from Salsa to big bands, and also accompanied famous singers. In the years 1986-1987 he underwent formal instruction at the Dutch Hilversum Conservatorium by (Wim Overgauw). He moved to Madrid in 1987, to play with other musicians and to undergo new musical infuences as Jorge Pardo Group,Ruben Dantas Group,etc..and formed his own group Santy Roque Cuartet
