Roy Sunak

Born:

Roy Sunak, trumpet player and composer, was born in Israel in 1978. At the age 10 he started to play keyboard and at the age 12 he started playing the trumpet in Yehud conservatory. Roy graduated at the Thelma Yellin School for arts in jazz faculty. When he finished high school he was selected to service in the IDF military band, and was requested to service his last half year as leader and soloist in the Air Force band. In 1998 he won the America-Israel cultural foundation award. He continued his musical studies at Rimon College supported with full scholarship and represent Israel at the Costa Rica International Jazz Festival for Music Colleges. From then on, Roy had the chance to play in different festivals; "the red sea jazz festival", Tel-Aviv jazz festival, Spring festival, Carmiel festival
