Randy Buckner

Born:

I love teaching guitar and performing live music. To begin with,I picked up the guitar in 1973. At the age of 39, I enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University and earned 64 credit hours toward a degree in jazz studies. While attending MTSU, I studied jazz improvisation with Don Aliquo, Bruce Dudley, and Jamey Simmons. I also studied guitar with Paul Abrams and Roger Hudson. Master classes I attended were conducted by Herb Ellis, Mundell Lowe, Gene Bertoncini, Benny Golson, Eddie Daniels, and Phil Woods. Currently, I perform with the classic-rock group “Pat Pending.” In the past, I have performed with various swing and country bands, as well as a performance with Merle Travis
