Pedro Cravinho (born October 07, 1968) is a Portuguese composer and double bass player. His range of interests encompasses experimental, contemporary composition, jazz and improvisation, and he has worked with a wide variety of groups and ensembles in Portugal. He also taught at Porto Jazz School. Born in Barreiro, Cravinho came to the fore as an improvising bassist as a member of a trio with pianist Pedro Costa and drummer Paulo Coelho, named JioTrazz. He also became an occasional member of several ensembles in the 1990s. In the early 2000s, he moved to North of Portugal to the city of Braga, at this time he create is own project as a leader “Pedro Cravinho Trio”, with the guitarist Budda and drummer Maconha
