Matteo Bortone

Double bass player/composer, Matteo Bortone is making a name for himself among the rising talents of the newest jazz generation, not only as an instrumentalist but also as a composer and bandleader, expecially after being awarded as “Best New Talent 2015”in the annual poll held by the journalists of italian jazz magazine Musica Jazz. Italian but musically raised in Paris, where he earned a Jazz Master Degree at highly-respected Conservatoire Nationale Superieur (CNSM), Matteo leads two bands: “ClarOscuro”, a brand new trio with pianist Enrico Zanisi and drummer Stefano Tamborrino (recording is scheduled for May 2017) as well as TRAVELERS a french/italian quartet with saxo player Antonin-Tri Hoang, drummer Ariel Tessier and guitarist Francesco Diodati
