Alfred Yun

Born:

Alfred Yun is a composer, pianist, producer, audio engineer, and music teacher. 

In 2019, Alfred Yun composed a score for Kookmin University in Seoul, South Korea. The video was featured on national television, movie theaters, subways, and airports. 

​Recently, Alfred Yun was selected as an Artist-in-Residence at Strathmore, and is planning to have a string of concerts and a workshop in January 2024. 

As a pianist, he has performed across the world: from Seoul to Boston and Washington DC. For several months, he has been leading a series of duos at Lake Anne Coffeehouse. He also performs regularly at Capitol Cider House in Washington DC . 

As a leader, Alfred Yun has led groups at the Marriott Bethesda, Crystal Gateway Marriott, the Ronald Reagan Building, and the Embassy Suites International by Dulles Airport. Led groups at venues like An Die Musik Live, Franklin Park Arts Center, and Mr. Henry's. As a sideman, he has performed at the Four Seasons DC, the Hay-Adams DC, and the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.

Alfred Yun has had the fortune of performing at festivals like the KORUS Festival, Lake Anne Jazz Festival, Jazz in the Country Festival, Crossroads Festival, the Yellowdoor Concert Series, and Nowon Festival in Seoul, South Korea.

Yujung Jung

Born:

Yujung Jung is a pianist, composer, and educator. She was named the 2010 Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz Emerging Artist at the Kennedy Center, further honing her musical palette at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, she began playing the piano at the age of 6 and grew up immersed in both listening to and playing gospel music. She pursued her studies in musical performance in her home country and worked as a session keyboardist with numerous K-pop artists. Yujung has graced the stage in over 1,000 concerts, events, and TV shows, including appearances at the Jarasum Jazz Festival, LG Art Center concert, 88 Olympic Hall, and on MBC television shows like I Am A Singer, Mask Singers, and KBS Sketchbook.

Jihye Lee Jazz

he winner of the 3rd edition of Brussels International Young Jazz Singers Competition 2007, Jihye Lee started to learn jazz at the Seoul Jazz Academy in South Korea where she also studied a basis in classical as well as traditional singing technique.

She obtained a bachelor degree in The Hague, where she studied mainstream jazz and bebop. She started to work on her own compositions influenced by traditional jazz, Korean traditional music, free improvising music and modern art. 

During her study she took workshops of Michael Brecker, Barry Harris, Mark Turner, Billy Hart, Willie Jones III, John Ruocco en Deborah Brown, Korean traditional music workshops in The Hague (2002-2006)

Eunhye Jeong

Eunhye Jeong is a pianist and composer with a critical mind that keeps expanding her musical world with diligent research. Recently, she released her fourthalbum [The Colliding Beings, Chi-Da] — a recording of her Seoul concert with Pansori master Il-dong Bae, which is selected as one of the Best Album of 2020 by Sequenza 21 magazine. And she soon released another record [Abyss] under Mung Music label in the same year. She currently performs two major projects: Chi-Da and TVV Quartet, as well as a new work called KM-53 with visuals and electronics. She has performed with legendary Wadada Leo Smith, a multiple awards-winner including UCLA medal of 2020, a Pulitzer Prize nominee and an innovative composer/trumpeter, as a pianist of NDA ensemble which performed one of ECM's most celebrated albums at the third CREATE Festival

His soulful dark sound springs from his influence on such giants in jazz; John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Kenny Garrett, and more. Thought out the years Sun has explored and absorbed the traditional language of modern jazz, and developed a unique style of improvising and composing. By searching the most natural and honest way for himself to feel and speak music through his instrument, Sun has found a way of combing the musical soul of his mother land with the traditional jazz
