Musician

Gerald Carboy

Born:

I began playing the bass in 1962. As most players of that time period, I was greatly influenced by the rhythm & blues of America and the influx of British music. I studied music theory, composition and arranging with the Maestro Julio C. Malatesta. In later years studied jazz composition and improvisation with Anthony Bertolotti.

Beginning in 1976, I began formulating an instructional methodology for all instruments which brings together the approaches of philosophy, physiology, and music theory under one concept based upon my experience as a music instructor and performing artist. My methodology is primarily a study in improvisation and chord construction, but is widely known by many simply as THE METHOD and is widely used and accepted by musicians and music instructors across the nation.

Internationally - I performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and many more throughout Europe performing with Chris Hinze (Netherlands)(Keystone/RCA) with Kevin Eubanks (USA)(Leader of the Tonight Show band), and Dee Dee Bridgewater (USA)(Montreux only).

I Also performed throughout the United Kingdom with David Sancious & Tone (USA) (Columbia/Arista).

Nationally - I performed with David Sancious & Tone, and Barry Miles & Silverlight, jazz guitarists Tal Farlow, Vic Juris, Kevin Eubanks, Vinnie Corrao, Bob Devoe and Doug Clark, jazz pianists Barry Miles and Bob Himmelberger, drummer Terry Silverlight, and singers Alex Ligertwood, Rob Paparozzi, Jeanie Bryson, and Jackie Jones.

2008 - Worked on new project for USA market
