Born in Montreal in 1986, Frederic begins his musical apprenticeship at age 15 when he discovers the electric bass as an autodidact. In 2005, he attends the CEGEP in Drummondville in music. It is at that time that he decides to learn the upright bass with Guy Boisvert, Daniel Lessard, Gilbert Fleury and Réal Montminy as teachers. Also he had the opportunity of playing with some of his teachers professionally regularly such as Francois Bourassa, Camil Bélisle, Billy Bouffard, Denis Mailloux, and Daniel Lessard. From 2008 to 2012, he is completing his bachelor’s degree at McGill University in Jazz Performance where he studies with renowned bassist Fraser Hollins
