Djivan Gasparyan was a renowned Armenian musician and master of the duduk, a traditional Armenian double-reed woodwind instrument. He was born on October 12, 1928, in Solag, Armenia, and passed away on July 6, 2021. Gasparyan was widely regarded as one of the world's foremost duduk players and made significant contributions to the popularization of Armenian music and culture on the international stage. Throughout his career, Djivan Gasparyan collaborated with various musicians and artists, including prominent figures like Peter Gabriel and Michael Brook. His haunting and soulful duduk melodies were featured in numerous film soundtracks, most notably in the soundtrack of the film "Gladiator." His music transcended cultural boundaries and touched the hearts of people around the world. Djivan Gasparyan's unique and emotive style helped bring the duduk to a global audience and played a significant role in preserving and promoting Armenian musical traditions
