Gentiane MG

Pianist and composer Gentiane MG has established herself as an important voice as a Canadian jazz composer. She made a powerful impression on Montreal’s jazz scene with her two albums for piano trio, Eternal Cycle (2017) and Wonderland (2019). MG is releasing her third album with this ensemble, Walls Made of Glass, on September 23, 2022. MG’s trio has received several awards, including the OPUS Award for Discovery of the Year (2020), the CBC/Radio-Canada Jazz Award (2018) and the François-Marcaurelle de la GMMQ Award (2017). Eternal Cycle was highlighted by CBC Music as one of 10 outstanding Canadian jazz albums of 2017. MG has played in Canada, Mexico, China, Ivory Coast, and Germany  alongside musicians such as Christine Jensen, Andre White, Yannick Rieu, Jim Doxas, , Jean-Michel Pilc and Ira Coleman, and released a duo album entitled Convergence with saxophonist Frank Lozano.

Biography Composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist Marco Sinopoli has dedicated his training to the study of classical composition and jazz studying with many of the best Italian musicians and teachers. Over the years he has collaborated as a guitarist in Italy and abroad with various artists, in the field of jazz and pop music, including Fabrizio Bosso, Roberto Gatto, Nicola Stilo, Ramberto Ciammarughi, Alessandro Gwis, Lino Patruno, Baraonna, Peppino Gagliardi, Max Gagliardi, Sergio Cammariere, Francesco Di Giacomo, Francesco Fratini, Simone Alessandrini, Federica Mischianti, The Session's Voices, Primiano Di Biasie (Dire Straits) and many others. He has received various commissions as a composer from institutions such as "Nuova Consonanza", "Macerata Arena Sferisterio", "Roman Philharmonic Academy", "Paolo Grassi Foundation", "Seminario de Cultura Mexicana", "Academy of the Cathedral of San Giovanni", "Un organ for Rome "and collaborating with various ensembles and soloists including" Sentieri Selvaggi "by Carlo Boccadoro," Mexico City Wind Quintet "," Mitja Quartet "," Accademia della Cattedrale di San Giovanni "," Imago Sonora " , “Alessandro Carbonare trio”, Michele Marco Rossi, Samuele Telari, Bruno Paolo Lombardi, Andrea Corsi, Luca Cipriano, Alessandra Amorino, Angelo Bruzzese. In 2018 he founded the "Marco Sinopoli-Extradiction" ensemble with which he developed his own original music in a transversal jazz approach, releasing the first album "Chromatic landscape" in 2021 for the label "Parco della Musica records". In 2022 he founded the "Marco Sinoopoli 5et" in wich he plays both piano and the guitar with Simone Alessandrini, soprano sax, Luca Cipriano, clarinet, Marco Siniscalco, bass, and Evita Polidoro on drums. In 2019 he won the prestigious international award "Macerata Opera Festival" and the commission for musical theater work "Can you heart me?" which has seen several replicas within the Sferisterio Festival and the Roma Europa Festival. At the same time, in addition to working in the studio as a session player and arranger, he composes music for plays, short films, commercials and documentaries. Oguz Buyukberber

Amsterdam based clarinetist Oğuz Büyükberber's style merges contemporary composition, jazz and influences from his Turkish background. He has performed at major festivals and venues all over the world, and collaborated with an incredibly wide range of master musicians and renown ensembles such as Butch Morris, Craig Harris, John Zorn, Gerry Hemingway, Simon Nabatov, Jim Black, Nils Wogram, Marc Sinan Company, Neue Vocalsolisten, Kairos String Quartet, Dresdner Sinfoniker, and Hüsnü Şenlendirici to name a few. His body of work includes over 50 CDs including releases on ECM and Blue Note, a detailed method book explaining his own improvisational systems titled “Spiral” which is published on Donemus and dozens of commissions he received to compose a wide ranging repertoire
