John Bishop / Bram Weijters / Piet Verbist: Antwerp

Read "Antwerp" reviewed by Dan McClenaghan

Origin Records is an example of a modern artist driven label that has grown through collaboration and community. As Matt Jorgensen, ...

Three terrific studio CDs--quartet outings, all--have come from the teaming of trumpeter Chad McCullough and keyboardist Bram Weijters: Imaginary Sketches (2011); Urban Nightingale, (2012); and Abstract Quantities (2015), all on Origin Records. Theirs is an always engaging, melodic modern jazz. On Feathers the musicians reduce their artistry down to the duo mode. From the ...

Chad McCullough & Bram Weijters: Abstract Quantities

Read "Abstract Quantities" reviewed by Dan McClenaghan

Trumpeter Chad McCullough debuted as a leader in 2009 with the superb Dark Wood, Dark, Water (Origin Records). He's stayed busy ever since, recording with The Kora Band--inspired by the sounds of Africa--Tunnel Six, and the two horn, chordless The Spin Quartet, along with two previous modern jazz sets on Origin Records on which he teamed ...
