Timotej Kotnik

Hailing from the mountainous countryside of Slovenia, Timotej Kotnik weaves a tapestry of sound with his trumpet and exploratory compositions. His music can be characterized as a seamless blend of world music styles and strong influences from Miles Davis' jazz-rock fusion period. 

Beyond his unique projects, Kotnik's trumpet has echoed across stages throughout Europe and the Middle East through a variety of diverse collaborations. He has performed, toured and recorded with a wide array of prominent musicians including Victor Mendoza, Yoel Paez, Aziz Maraka, Souad Massi and Magos Herrera. He has also recorded and shared the stage with Perico Sambeat, Ivan “Melon” Lewis, Danilo Perez and Plena 79. Through every collaboration and musical tour, Kotnik has enriched his playing and composing with the influences of each musical adventure.

A brief history of Antibalas The musical collective known as Antibalas (Spanish for bullet-proof or anti-bullets) was conceived of in Mexico City and formed in Brooklyn New York. The early nucleus of the group was composed of the band's founder Martín Perna and later included several other members (Gabriel Roth, Michael Wagner, Del Stribling aka Binky Griptite, Victor Axelrod, Fernando Bugaloo Velez, Anda Szilagyi) from the Soul Providers / Dap Kings band. performing their first show in May 1998 at St. Nick's Pub in Harlem NY. Hogo Fogo

The sound of Hogo Fogo’s musical universe derives from the four corners of the world. This Danish instrumental band is often boundary-pushing in their improvisations, other times insisting in their grooves and melodic ostinatios and sometimes very mellow and sensitive. 
With inspirations from Nordic Folk, American Jazz and African Funk Hogo Fogo is a breath of fresh air on the Danish music scene. The band describes their own music as a kind of World/Urban/Soul/Folk intstrumental groove music. 
The four Danish musicians Michael Dalgas (Dr), Lars Emil Riis (Keys), Spencer Gross (Gui) and Søren Lund (Bas) have played together for more than 14 years as backingband for a wide range of artists
