This episode is filled with new interesting new releases, highlighted by ex-pat South Korean drummer Sun Mi Hong who's settled nicely into the Amsterdam scene, vocalist Christine Correa's take on the seminal music of Abbey Lincoln & Max Roach, saxophonist Muriel Grossmann's spiritual and spirited approach, and Belgian saxophonist Manuel Hermia with his latest band, Freetet. Gebhard Ullmann turns to the clarinet on a new one from the esteemed Clarinet Trio, and Chicago's Earscratcher rollicks up the place while fellow Chicagoans guitarist Dan Phillips and bassist Krzysztof Pabian provide contrasting subtle but heavy duo play. Plenty more as usual.
