Hour one of this episode lands on New Orleans for a taste of new albums by the veteran saxophonist Roger Lewis's debut as a leader and poet Don Paul with a great band. Polish keyboardist Kamil Piotrowski was in NYC for the recent Jazztopad Festival, collaborating with locals, but I've got his latest Polish release to sample. Bassist Nick Dunston continues his creative ways with his new Spider Season, as do Vancouver guitarist Gordon Grdina with two new albums and Toronto bassist Alex Fournier. That pair plus a final set of music from other Canadian bands is a salute to Canada's national holiday which took place the day after this show first aired on Taint Radio.
