Coral MacFarland Thuet: Abriendo Puertas

Heartfelt ballads and sensual laments make Coral MacFarland Thuet’s quartet session simmer with quiet emotion. The blend of acoustic guitar, acoustic cello, flute and voice stands apart as a unique entity. The tonal combination lends itself to mournful refrains and hymns of solemn praise.

Thuet sings these lovely, traditional ballads in Spanish and Portuguese. Her aqua-fresh voice sparkles with passion, but remains intentionally clouded by the mood of her program. The opening doors of the album’s title seem to invite the listener in for an afternoon of quiet meditation. Gather around the ensemble, absorb their gentle persuasion, feel the chamber music passion inherent in the quartet’s style, and relax to the singer’s sensual interpretation of each classic tune. All nine tracks are represented as audio samples at Inner Focus Music .
