I played trumpet from the age of ten, earned a bachelor's degree in music
education, and taught high school instrumental music for six years. My
introduction to jazz listening began in the 1960s and has never waned through
several major career changes that have taken me away from music during the
day. So, with the architecture of computer hardware and software on my mind
all day long, it is truly a joy to be able to return to music during my
leisure time.
Tastes being what they are, I feel comfortable discussing almost anything.
New and exciting listening opportunities pop up every time I pick up a catalog
or turn on the radio. There are only two kinds of music (good and bad) and we
owe it to ourselves to keep on exploring with an open mind.
