Louise Denson

Louise Denson is a pianist, composer/arranger, improviser and educator. She holds a Doctorate in Musical Arts from the Queensland Conservatorium (Brisbane) where she was a Senior Lecturer in Jazz Studies, 1999-2020. She completed her Masters in Jazz at New England Conservatory (Boston), studying with such luminaries as Paul Bley, George Russell, Bevan Manson and Joe Maneri. She has issued 7 CDs, 3 through labels and 4 independently. Nova Nova (2021) earned a 4-star review in the Weekend Australian Review, and Colours of Your Love (2018, with Ingrid James and Wild Silk Strings Project) received acclaim from around the world

Described by Downbeat Magazine as “one of the finest modern composer/arrangers of our time” Mike Holober was awarded the 2022 American Academy of Arts and Letters Andrew Imbrie Award in Music.  His recent big band recording, "Mike Holober & The Gotham Jazz Orchestra:  Hiding Out" (ZOHO Music, 2019) was nominated for a 2020 GRAMMY® Award (Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album), and features two of his extended works for jazz orchestra.

Justin Pierce

Saxophonist Justin Pierce began his musical career in the musically diverse region of the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast. After beginning saxophone studies at age 12, he developed a passion for music in the middle school jazz ensemble. Since that time, he has performed across the United States and internationally, earned degrees in both classical and jazz styles, and taught at the secondary and college levels. Justin currently serves as Assistant Professor of Instrumental Music at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma, where he directs the jazz ensemble and touring band, in addition to teaching saxophone, clarinet, and improvisation lessons

Mike Spinrad is a composer, arranger, drummer and percussionist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has composed the music for two released CDs under his own name, a jazz trio for "It's Morning" and a sextet for "Horns."
