Born in 1948 in Santa Catarina, Brasil. He grew up in Curitiba, Parana, Brasil. Ademar Fonseca is a highly talented brazilian musician with uncommon knowledge of music gained since early age. At age eight he acquired his first acoustic guitar. At age 13 he put together his first band. It was a duo with his brother Ademir on vocal and percussion. As his style developed he continued to perform in bars, musical shows, radio stations, theaters, concert halls, museums and in the most famous carnival in the world. Daniel Girón was born in Bogota Colombia , and from a very early age, his interest in music was evident. At the age of 16, he began to teach himself to play guitar. By age 17, seeking a more solid foundation, he began his Classical guitar studies in the School of Music Luis A. Calvo in Bogota under the direction of Humberto Franco. Later, he commenced college studies in music at the Pedagogica Nacional University, where he took classes with the great Colombian guitarist and composer Gentil Montana . His studies there included flamenco guitar and modern harmony with Robeto Martinez. Daniel attended Great Lectures of Classical Guitar instructed by Eduardo Fernandez, Leo Brower, Tomas Patterson, and Alirio Diaz, among other great Maestros. Daniel's career has included numerous recitals in well-known Halls and Theaters in Bogota , along with great performances of Colombia 's Folk music

Fred Hunter's career as a jazz bassist spans over thirty years. He's performed and recorded with Mary Lou Williams, Harry “Sweets” Edison, Louie Bellson, Clark Terry, Panama Francis, Houston Person, Etta Jones, Jimmy Hill, Alvin Queen, and many others. Fred worked for twenty years in bands led by saxophonist Illinois Jacquet. Fred says, "One of the most swinging-est bands I was ever in, led by a REAL legend!" Philip Booth, a Florida native, plays upright bass, and fretted and fretless bass guitars, in a variety of bands drawing from jazz, blues, funk, fusion, and New Orleans grooves. In addition to Acme Jazz Garage, he plays with Swan City Jazz Project, Zensemble, Trio Vibe, the Blue Guava Orchestra, the Juke Joint Kings, and various trios and quartets under his own name, and occasionally subs with the Tomcats Jazz Orchestra and other groups. He formerly led or co-led bands including Greenwich Blue, Ghetto Love Sugar, and spoken word ensemble The Irritable Tribe of Poets. Philip's bands have played major events including the Gasparilla Music Festival (twice), the Clearwater Jazz Holiday, the WMNF Tropical Heatwave, the Child of the Sun Jazz Festival, and a variety of venues in the Tampa Bay area and Central Florida. Philip has also played one-off gigs with several notable artists, including guitarist Larry Coryell, B3 organ master & guitarist Lucky Peterson, and pioneering rock 'n' roller Bo Diddley. Philip has produced and/or played on several recordings, including releases by Acme Jazz Garage Ghetto Love Sugar, Greenwich Blue, and the Irritable Tribe of Poets

Paul Gavin is a Drummer, Teacher, Composer & Arranger in Tampa, FL. Since graduating from the University of South Florida in 2015 Paul has made his living exclusively as a freelance musician. By playing all kinds of music all around the state of Florida, teaching privately and in schools, and writing for school programs and his own original music he maintains an active schedule. Joe Porter hails from the city of St. Petersburg, Florida, where he learned to play bass guitar and double bass while studying music at St. Petersburg Junior College. In 2000 he graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor's degree in jazz performance. Soon after graduating, Joe was asked to join the Maynard Ferguson Big Bop Nouveau band on a world tour from 2001-2003. During his tenure he also had the chance to perform with singer Diane Schuur. O Som Do Jazz (the sound of jazz in Portuguese) recaptures the grace, energy and spirit of 1960s Brazilian music.

Trained as an architect, O Som Do Jazz singer Andrea Moraes Manson moved to the Tampa Bay area from Rio de Janeiro, she began performing with her jazz musician husband, David Manson. Andrea has a natural understanding of this wonderful music and sings from the heart, like only a Brazilian can, in Portuguese and English
