The Brand New Heavies
The Brand New Heavies are an acid jazz and alternative hip hop group formed in 1985 in Ealing, West London. Originally an instrumental rare groove group, the Brand New Heavies gained a cult following in the London club scene and soon signed to Cooltempo as acid house replaced rare groove in clubs. Band members The core members of the group are: * Jan Kincaid — born 17 May 1966 in Ealing - drummer / keyboardist * Simon Bartholomew — born 16 October 1965 in Ealing - guitarist * Andrew "Love" Levy — born 20 July 1966 in Ealing - bassist / keyboardist The band has also worked with many vocalists, including N'Dea Davenport, Sideah Garrett, Carleen Anderson, Nicole Russo, and Sy Smith.
