Dave Noland

From a very early age, musicians identify and cultivate the sounds that surround them. Growing up with the recordings of the Count Basie Orchestra, Stan Getz, John Coltrane, and the Texas blues scene, saxophonist Dave Noland has identified the direction of his music and has taken the necessary steps to pursue it. Born and raised in San Angelo, TX, Dave naturally drifted towards the sound of the saxophone through the encouragement of friends, family, local bands, and teachers. After studying for two very productive years at the University of North Texas, he eventually went on to complete a degree in jazz studies and performance from William Paterson University where he studied with Gary Smulyan, Don Braden, and Armen Donelian
