Alex Blaine is a New Orleans based tenor saxophonist, though he also plays piano, keys, and organ. Born and raised in New Jersey, a stone’s throw from New York City, he began saxophone at age 7 and was marching in parades with high school bands by age 10. Being the son of a professional saxophonist and music teacher, Alex was raised with music as a major part of his life. Blaine recently contributed to an album credited with a 2015 Grammy nomination in the Best Blues Album category (Bobby Rush’s “Decisions”) along with many other fantastic players.
