Gianpaolo Camplese

Sitting on a Drum-set since he was a little kid (father also Drummer) he’s being playing many kind of music, rock, funk, reggae, but since more than 10 years he's true passion has been Jazz, from the roots (New Orleans ragtime) until the contemporary Jazz scene. Also completely free improvised music is becoming lately an important part of the game. From 2001 he started to study in the music school “Percentomusica” in Rome. There he could study with Gianni di Renzo, Pierpaolo Ferroni, Andrea Avena, Massimo Carrano, Umberto Fiorentino, Massimo Moriconi. Also in Rome he attended the music school "Ritmix" and took private lessons with Marco Volpe in Milan. Moreover he attended many workshops such as, Berklee in Umbria (2 weeks workshop), Veneto Jazz (10 days workshop with the New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music of New York), Siena Jazz (2 weeks) In 2007 he spent 8 months in New York, where he had a chance to study with Ari Hoenig, and to perform around in some bars/clubs.
