Brad Macdonald

Brad Macdonald is a jazz pianist based in the Chicagoland area. Growing up downstate in a small town called Collinsville, Brad studied in St. Louis with Carolbeth True. Since moving to Chicago in 2006, he has studied with Frank Caruso, Doug Beach, Frank Portolese and Mark Colby. He has performed with such renowned jazz artists as Wayne Bergeron, Steve Weist, Denis DiBlasio, Bobby Shew, and Patti Austin. He has been a recipient of many solo awards during his four years of performing at the Elmhurst College Jazz Festival. His playing can be heard on two albums released by the Elmhurst College Jazz Band ('Round Midnight, 2008, and Harlem Nocture, 2009), as well as his own release of mostly original compositions (Off The Top Of My Head, 2010). Brad has received his Bachelor's of Music in Jazz Studies from Elmhurst College, and is currently working on his Master's of Music in Jazz Composition at DePaul University.
