In his teens Ronald heard Wes Montgomery playing "Canadian Sunset" on the radio, He was determined to follow in the footsteps of his idol. Subsequent influences on the guitar include Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, George Benson, Phil Upchurch and Roland Faulkner. Ronald has toured with the Staple Singers. 'Along the way he has had the opportunity to associate with such musicians as Willie Bobo, Les McCann, Dizzy Gillespie and Eddie Harris. Soon afterward he began touring with Eddie Harris, he was counted among such musicians as Rufus Reid, Bob Crowder and Billy James. After touring extensively with Eddie he went to work with Ronnie Laws
