Umphrey's McGee

A six-piece progressive rock band from Chicago, IL, Umphrey's McGee has built a rabid fanbase through endless touring that puts them on the road 120+ nights a year. Their constantly evolving sound channels a wide spectrum of influences, while still preserving their distinct voice through crafty songwriting. With a massive repertoire of original songs and note-perfect covers, a live show is often like flipping through the presets on your radio dial. Their A.D.D. approach to "progressive improvisation" will often utilize a set of carefully devised (and Zappa inspired) hand signals that allows them to develop structure as they orchestrate their melodic creations on the fly.
