One of the most inventive artists to come along from Brazil in recent years, Rodrigo Lima is releasing his debut album as a leader, "Saga", a stunning 2-CD set that has the brilliant guitarist/composer/arranger working in modes that range from his Brazilian samba & bossa roots to chamber jazz, with lots of stops in between. Produced by Arnaldo DeSouteiro (João Gilberto, Luiz Bonfá, Deodato) for the Jazz Station Records (JSR) label, recorded in LA, NY, Rio and Curitiba, “Saga” features an all-star cast: Hubert Laws, Anat Cohen, Don Sebesky, Mike Mainieri, Hermeto Pascoal, Ithamara Koorax, Sammy Figueroa, Raul de Souza, Hugo Fattoruso, Joao Palma and Laudir de Oliveira, to name a few.

A live version of Rodrigo Lima's "Flying Waltz," originally arranged by Don Sebesky (featuring Hubert Laws on flute) for Lima's acclaimed album Saga. The musicians performing on this Saga release concert also performed on the album. Among them, the legendary Brazilian trombone master Raul de Souza, keyboardist Hugo Fattoruso (founder of the OPA trio) and master percussionist Laudir de Oliveira, from the Chicago supergroup. The song also appears on the soundtrack of the movie The Marriage of Mario e Fia. Produced by Arnaldo DeSouteiro for the Los Angeles-based label Jazz Station Records, Saga is available on all digital platforms.
