Danny Fox Trio: Wide Eyed

Read "Danny Fox Trio: Wide Eyed" reviewed by Dave Wayne

So many jazz piano trios, so little time! With Wide Eyed, the Danny Fox Trio proves very definitively that they are worthy of your attention. Fox' wickedly humorous, tightly-conceived, multi- stylistic compositions and his trio's remarkably sensitive interplay are completely attention-grabbing. One listen was enough to make me a believer. Like a lot of the more ...

Pete Robbins Quartet: Pyramid

Read "Pyramid" reviewed by Stefano Merighi

Pete Robbins Transatlantic Quartet: Live in Basel

Read "Live in Basel" reviewed by AAJ Italy Staff

Pete Robbins Transatlantic Quartet: Live In Basel

Read "Live In Basel" reviewed by Mark Corroto

Like most modern jazz players, alto saxophonist Pete Robbins works in multiple bands, playing varying styles and disciplines of this thing called jazz. Sounds reasonable, yes? But, thirty years ago this wasn't possible. Musicians, listeners, and jazz critics (let's not leave them out) had to take sides, choose categories and labels to classify and compartmentalize their ...
