Madeleine & Salomon

Madeleine & Salomon is the encounter of two artists with distinct musical backgrounds: the composer and pianist Alexandre Saada and the vocalist and flutist Clotilde Rullaud. Six years after their acclaimed first album, A Woman’s Journey, the duo releases its second album, Eastern Spring. Although this new album pays homage to the militant Middle Eastern pop of the 1960s-1970s – all gems, though most are unknown in the West – one recognises certain intonations of the previous album, which was devoted to the leading politically-aware songstresses of the American canon.

Beloveds

Beloveds is a cabaret, a burial ground, a circus, a lullaby. Beloveds is an ensemble that started in 2016 In Gothenburg, Sweden. Composer and singer Channa Riedel uses poetry in order to create music that is intimate, rugged and beautiful. They find inspiration from music such as Liberation Music Orchestra, Victor Jara, Hanns Eisler as well as Swedish and Jewish folk songs. Lyrics are by Palestinian, Swedish, American and Russian poets such as Vladimir Mayakovsky, Juliana Spahr, Stig Dagerman and Channa Riedel.  In October 2019 debut album "Så tar natten dig åter" was released on Swedish indie label Abrovinsch Records

Channa Riedel

Born: October 15, 1990

Channa Riedel is a writer, poet and musician. She recently graduated from the Academy of Music and Drama, University of Gothenburg and the debut album of her band Beloveds was released in 2019. This year she will begin a master’s in Literary Composition at HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design, and is currently working on her first collection of poems. Awakening Orchestra

Although it’s right there in the name, it’s not entirely clear whether composer/leader Kyle Saulnier’s Awakening Orchestra is in fact an orchestra, a big band or something entirely and wildly different. Encompassing broad swaths of musical style in both original and recontextualized and re-imagined compositions, the Awakening Orchestra delves deep into traditions from classical to jazz to indie rock on their debut album, volume I: this is not the answer. Interspersing original work - like the intricate, four-part, title-track symphony - with often radical interpretations of work by Samuel Barber, Radiohead, Johannes Brahms and Low, volume I: this is not the answer crafts a powerful mix of written and improvised material

Mukwuru

Mukwuru's music comes from a world of pain. When this songwriter says, 'Listen to the song I sing,' he means it. So, let the music move you and take heart. A singer/songwriter fusing jazz with many flavors . . . . This singer/songwriter crosses over many genres. It's music for the people. What you hear now is just a sampling of this singer can do. This singer/songwriter guitarist has at least 50 songs under his belt. For the Jazz purist - a concert of pure jazz. For the people who just like good music - mix it up. For the socially conscious and those who want to join the protest, 'Know What Matters' and 'Can You Imagine' gives you something to think about
