Anderson Quevedo Bachelor's degree, in 2007, in popular saxophone by the Santa Marcelina Music Faculty. Studied saxophone under the guidance of maestro Roberto Sion, and saxophonist Vitor Alcântara, participated in dance bands like S.O.S. (Sensacional Orchestra Sonora - 2006), Maestro Brasil - 2009, SP3 (2010-2013), participated in the show “90 years of Cartola” with Elton de Medeiros, Márcia and Theo de Barros - 2009/2010, with Nei Lopes - 2010, participated in the project Pixinguinha tour Centro-Oeste / Norte do Brasil with the instrumental group Armazém Abaporu - 2005, with the same group performed in Europe (France - 2005) and Argentina (La Plata - 2007)

David Bixler

Alto saxophonist and composer David Bixler has recently embarked on an artistic reemergence with the release of two new recordings; In the Face of Chaos (2019) with Bixler, Boccato, Cowherd, and Sturm, and Blended Lineage (2020) with the Bixtet. A traumatic brain injury suffered by his youngest son necessitated a shift in Bixler’s priorities during the last decade—a period in which his family devoted much of its energy to the care of its youngest member. Because of this new lens, Bixler’s creative approach to composition, performance, and recording is repurposed and evident in his most recent output. For the recording In the Face of Chaos, Bixler has assembled a band that understands the message of resilience and hope despite the odds that this music was intended to convey

“ORIGINALS” is a long form musical work that primarily uses jazz combo instrumentation in its presentation. It’s a work comprised of 6 movements that flow from one piece to the next: I. Finally, II. Always, III. Maybe, IV. Infinity, V. Later, VI. Yesteryears. The movements appear as individual tracks on the album and there is a bonus take of VI.
