Halley Shoenberg

Jazz artist Halley Shoenberg has been a dynamic presence in the greater Washington, D.C. area for several decades. In addition to leading her own exciting ensembles, she is hotly in demand performing and recording on saxophone and clarinet with other top shelf groups in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. 

She has earned a fine reputation as a performer, arranger and composer, conversant in presenting musical styles from traditional to contemporary jazz, entertaining listeners in venues ranging from intimate clubs to huge ballrooms and festivals. She is a Maryland State Arts Council Touring Artist and on the roster of Jazz Beyond Borders.

Lorenzo Cellupica

Born:

Lorenzo Cellupica was born in 1992 in Frosinone (Italy). He’s a pianist, keyboardist, composer and music teacher from Isola del Liri (Frosinone). He began to study at a local music school and carried on his own from the age of 13 till 25. His studies ranged from classical music to jazz, from rock to pop. In 2011 he won a contest for emerging bands in Alvito (FR) called Non solo Jazz (“Not Only Jazz”) with his band Yellowcake. In 2015 he was chosen as the best musicians by the newspaper TG24 for partecipating at a contest organised by the music school Industrie Sonore in Isola del Liri, where he played some original compositions for piano solo

Olin Clark, Adam Ray and Louie Leager are Pieces, a New York City jazz trio committed to writing and performing original compositions that meld rock, avant-garde, and straight-ahead jazz in an exciting new take on the guitar trio sound. Formed during COVID-19 lockdowns, Pieces began by live streaming concerts as a way to stay musically active and to process the effects of the pandemic. Throughout 2020, the band continued to grow their audience and in turn, developed a unified musical voice that is documented on their debut album, 1A. The compositions from this period are stylistically adventurous and emotionally raw, evoking the wide range of feelings brought to the surface during the early days of the pandemic

Martin Fabricius

Born:

Martin Fabricius is a Danish vibraphonist and film composer. He graduated Suma Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a major in film scoring in 1996. While at Berklee, Martin studied the vibraphone with Ed Saindon and multi grammy award winner Gary Burton.

Building on the legacy of Gary Burton and his pianistic 4-mallet approach, Martin is considered a leading exponent of a new generation of vibraphone players, exploring the use of electronics, new repertoire and inventing new playing techniques in the quest of expanding the expressive possibilities of his instrument. Martin’s music has by many been described as calm, image invoking Nordic jazz. His trio albums has received international critical acclaim – including 5 of 5 star reviews in All About Jazz and JazzThetik and they have become one of the most played jazz bands on Danish National Radio. He has toured Europe, Asia, Africa and the U.S..

Teis Semey

Born:

Teis Semey (1993) was born in rural Denmark and found his interest in music at the age of 7. After shuffling between playing piano and playing guitar, he settled on guitar. Moving to Sweden in 2007, he started studying music in a specialised programme for young jazz talents in the city Malmö. After a brief year in Stockholm, studying jazz guitar and classical composition, classical piano and jazz guitar, he moved to Amsterdam, earning a bachelors and masters degree in jazz guitar in the Conservatory of Amsterdam, studying under Jesse van Ruller, Reinier Baas, Maarten vd Grinten, Matiss Cudars, George Dumitriu and Martijn van Iterson. Teis Semey draws influences from all around: the works of Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Ravel as well as Wayne Shorter, Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana, Audioslave, Kurt Rosenwinkel and John Coltrane. Teis Semey has released one CD as a band leader; “Where The Fence is the Highest” (2019, TRPTK) along with “Pull a String, a Puppet Moves” with PULL (2015, Loumi Records) and “Rotterdam Suite” by The New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra (2019). Teis has performed in venues such as Blue Whale (Los Angeles) and Bimhuis (Netherlands)

Pianist, accordionist and composer Ben Rosenblum has traversed a truly unique musical path, one that has seen him perform alongside world-class musicians across more than twenty music genres and fifteen countries, lead bands at prestigious venues across the world, all while maintaining a signature, melodic musical voice. Doron Segal

Born:

Doron Segal was seven years old when he started taking piano lessons at the Karmiel conservatory in northern Israel. At the conservatory, he spent nine years studying classical piano playing. Then, at the age of sixteen, he was introduced to jazz music by his brother who gave him recordings of jazz music played by Michel Petrucciani, Chick Corea and Oscar Peterson. He became fascinated by the atmosphere of jazz music and began playing in jazz groups. In the years that followed, he played jazz music in various projects, competitions and bands in Israel. At the age of twenty-one, Doron started studying at the Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem, majoring in Jazz Piano, studying with Avi Adrian and Yuval Cohen
