About Me
I'm a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and NYU Film School. My background includes filmmaking, children’s theatre, building construction, and a season with a one-ring circus. Excerpts from SCHOOLHOUSE: A Memoir in 13 Lessons have appeared in the Literary Review and Iowa Review, and my short fiction has won the 2008 Raymond Carver Short Story Contest and been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. My feature-length screenplays include BOTTOMLAND, THE DREAM CATCHER, and THE SPEED OF LIFE. I serve on the faculty of Chatham University in Pittsburgh, and am working on a new novel, HOUDINI'S HEIRS.
