Crazy on great music & musicians + love to take photos
Lives and works in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Petra has a great passion & love for
music and life
around her. She became interested in photography fairly late, in the final year of grammar
school, when a
friend was looking for someone to apply for a photography course with her. She has been
initiated into the
world of photography by the prematurely departed photographer & painter Dušan Pirih
Hup.
When a student (Faculty of Social Sciences, Cultural Studies), she pursued photography on
the theoretical
level, whenever possible integrating photography into seminar papers, and even
graduating in photography.
As one needs to work for a living – and she knew that books did not interested her much –,
she delved into
magazine design, during which time she considerably neglected photography and
dedicated herself to
studying and exploring graphic design. She took photos only once a year, of musicians
appearing at the
Ljubljana Jazz Festival.
Currently, she is holding the post of the Art Director of the Slovene edition of
Cosmopolitan. Three years ago
her interest in photography was rekindled by Jure Sodja, who invited her to exhibit in
Bohinj during the Kanal
Festival.
She has always been drawn to music, either as a listener or a photographer. Well, as Bohinj
is a special place
it happened that that’s where she met Žiga Koritnik, a photography wizard. Ever since his
workshop in 2009
she have been addicted to photography and music that have become an integral part of her
life.
