Glenn Johnson

About Me

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Glenn studied percussion with Allen G. Smith, and studied music at Cass Tech High School. After playing in assorted basements, garages, theaters, and jams, he joined with Dimitri Mugianis in 1977 to form Mr. Unique and the Leisure Suits (later simply Leisure Class). At the Drummer's Collective in New York, he studied with Duduka Da Fonseca, Frank Malabe, Ricky Sebastian and Bob Weiner. Glenn also studied privately with Joe Morello. He has written music for WGPR TV and radio, the Better Than Average Stupid Variety Show, Table Top Video, the Paul Hodge Foundation, and Taly and Russ Johnson.
