About Me

Jesse Neuman has been an active member of NYC's Jazz and improvised music scene for the past 10 years. A trumpeter/cornetist who often employs real time electronic effects, he has played with such diverse ensembles as Brooklyn Qawwali Party (devotional Sufi music from Pakistan), silentZ (progressive electro-acoustic jazz), Kaash (north Indian Hindistani- electronica fusion), and the Barbarians (funk and soul jazz). He is also a sideman with singer-songwriters Josh Ritter, Michelle Casillas, Bobby Bare Jr., Melomane, and Rob Jost. His own ensembles include Panda Collective, rage_light, and Bruce Lee, both of which feature electronic elements and non-traditional instrumentations. He is also the founder and director of MUSICWORKS, a company that presents interactive arts workshops to students of all ages, and has recently completed his second 6-week volunteer trip to Quito, Ecuador, and will be presenting a similar seminar for at-risk youth in Guatemala this summer.
