I'm a fledgling appreciator whose passion developed when I saw jazz live for the first time at JZ Club in Shanghai. The fever's been with me since that fateful night, and now I find myself asking Santa Claus for a time machine when I'm off my meds. Just kidding. Not really. As a freelance writer, I have been interviewing local musicians in hopes that I can translate at least part of their magic and spirit from the stage to the page. My love spans from Dixieland to Beyond Jazz and I am thrilled to discover what I believe will be a lifelong pursuit.
