I love jazz because...it’s a balance between roots and classical I was first exposed to jazz...listening to Fats Waller I met Brother Jack McDuff]... The best show I ever attended was. Johnny Griffin at the Jazz Showcase in Chicago.. The first jazz record I bought was Eric Dolphy Out To Lunch My advice to new listeners...Start with Jelly Roll Morton, Armstrong Hot Fives Or whatever else you have in mind.
