Jimmy Smith

About Me

Born in Maryland, Jimmy moved to North Carolina before he turned 1. He got interested in music in 6th grade. He started off playing clairenet but he wanted to play alto saxiphone. After learning the Clairinet he then learned percussion. In 9th grade when he played in the East Burke High School Symphonic band he swiched to the Bassoon. He quickly went to the top of the instrument and is now first chair. In 10th grade he switched in marching to sousaphone and by his 11th grade year he was the secition leader for The East Burke High School Marching Band. He now plays Bassoon in two bands including: 1rst chair East Burke Wind Ensemble, and 2nd Chair Harper Youth Wind Ensemble. He sais that he plans on trying out for Drum Major at East Burke high school for the marching band of 07-08.
