Jeff Hawley

About Me

My teachers/mentors include Luther Hughes, Charlie Haden, Dr. Greg Woll, Brent Pierce, and Dr. Lou Reich. I have performed with Maynard Ferguson, Bobby Shew, the Tony Rich Project, the California Avante-Garde Ensemble, Running With Scissors, Ron Powell, Dr. Joe Jewell, Tom Kubis Big Band, and many LA area jazz greats. I have played at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Playboy Jazz Festival, and the Reno Jazz Festival. My studio experience includes work with Tony Kaye (YES), Paul Freeman (Disney Productions), and Brian Yaskulka.

I have been a featured artist at the Fullerton College Jazz Festival, Western States Jazz Festival, and the Monterey Jazz Festival at Sea. I received 3 'downbeat' Student Music Awards for my work writing, producing, engineering, and playing with Fullerton College. And yes, for those of you who are curious...I am a founding member of the now infamous Cabana Boys. I performed hundreds of shows with the group from 1995-2000, and jumped off of scaffolding or amplifiers at just about every one of them.
