Lisa Kirchner is a jazz vocalist, composer-lyricist, producer, recording artist, and actor who sings an eclectic repertoire of original songs, standards, contemporary classical art songs, theater, French and Brazilian music.

About Me

Lisa Kirchner is a singer, songwriter and actress who has performed a multi-lingual repertoire that includes the Great American Songbook, contemporary jazz tunes and international music. She has appeared at Foxwoods Casino, Ryles Jazz Club, at New York City's Birdland, Iridium, The Village Gate, Porters, Maxim's, the Copacabana, Cleopatra's Needle, and at many other clubs in New York City. She has been the invited singer to Gracie Mansion and has appeared at the White House. Lisa Kirchner's entre into the jazz venue is preceded by her years of experience in theatre and television. She wrote her own songs for her on camera appearances on NBC's “Another World.” Her varied performance background has included Broadway appearances in “The Threepenny Opera,” and in Galt MacDermot's musical “The Human Comedy”. Off-Broadway, Lisa originated the role of Irma Vep in Richard Foreman and Stanley Silverman's “Hotel For Criminals” and it's sequel, “The American Imagination”. She has been featured in numerous off and off-off Broadway productions at the Public Theatre, the Delacorte Theatre, La Mama Theatre and annex, Westbeth, and The American Place Theatre. On television she appeared in featured roles on BRAVO Cable and WNET's “Great Performances”. As a background singer she appeared with Judy Collins at Carnegie Hall. the Roxie, Wheeler Opera House, the Greek Theater, on television and on recording. As a dancer she appeared in various musicals and with the James Waring Dance Company at Judson Memorial Church. Lisa has recorded, produced, written music and lyrics for, and performed on six solo vocal jazz and crossover albums: One More Rhyme, When Lights Are Low, In the Shadow of a Crow, Something to Sing About, Charleston for You, and Umbrellas In Mint, on Albany and Verdant World record labels. She has been producer of six contemporary classical albums of music by her father, the contemporary classical composer Leon Kirchner, winner of the 1967 Pulitzer Prize. Lisa's recent musical project has been as editor, contributing author, producer and publisher of, Leon Kirchner and His Verdant World, an anthology of writings on and by composer Leon Kirchner and his colleagues spanning sixty years of collaboration in the arts.
