Dennis Moss is a jazz guitarist/bandleader serving the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

About Me

Dennis Moss is a Portland, OR-based jazz guitarist and bandleader. He performs regulary at weddings, corporate events, private parties, restaurants, lounges, wine bars and festivals. Dennis has performed in venues such as the Silver Legacy Resort Casino (Reno, NV), the Seattle Aquarium, McCaw Hall at the Seattle Center, University of Washington South Campus Center, 911 Federal Building (Portland, OR), Virginia V Historic Ship and Antioch University. Dennis has had the honor of performing for distinguished clients such as Seattle City Council member Jan Drago and Tacoma Mayorial Candidate Jim Merritt. Besides leading his own groups and performing as a soloist, Dennis composes, arranges, teaches guitar privately and presents jazz guitar clinics.

Dennis earned a Bachelor of Music from Cornish College of the Arts. As a Cornish student, Dennis studied with notable jazz artists such as Chuck Deardorf, Dawn Clement, Julian Priester and Jovion Santos Neto. Dennis earned multiple talent-based scholarships and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

There are several unique aspects of Dennis' playing that set him apart. A fingerstylist, Dennis has a gorgeous tone and he plays the seven-string guitar. He has a strong harmonic sesnse and his voicings are unique among guitarists. His ability to take on multiple roles simultaneously (combining melody, harmony and bass lines) makes Dennis a perfect fit for solo and small ensemble performances. Dennis' playing style is very lyrical and his sound is warm and engaging. Dennis' music works well as background ambiance at events and also as a main attraction.
