Terese Genecco

The Love Child of Dean Martin and Judy Garland! A Rat Pack Inspired Sensation!

About Me

Terese Genecco (pronounced Teh-REECE Jeh-NECK-oh) has taken both coasts by storm (critics call her “A class four hurricane!” and “A syncopated cyclone!”) as she tears up any club that can handle her one-woman show, accompanied by her stellar 8-piece “little big band.” Released on the independent BUG:OUT:MUSIC label, “DRUNK WITH LOVE: LIVE AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM,” is Genecco's debut CD, and a hip, magical stroll through the life and act of one of the 20th Century's premiere jazz and nightclub icons, Frances “Miss Zazz-Zu-Zazz” Faye. As one recent NYC critic proclaimed, “If you don't know who Frances Faye was, you should. And if you don't know who Terese Genecco is, you will!” (NEXT MAGAZINE) Named to TIME OUT NEW YORK magazine's TOP TEN BEST of 2006 & 2007 list, and winner of a 2007 BACKSTAGE BISTRO AWARD for Best Tribute Show, 2008 and 2009 MAC Awards for Best Recording and Outstanding Female Vocalist, and a 2009 Out Music Award, this relative newcomer to the American jazz scene is on a fast track to musical success, always throwing credit back to the artist who inspired it all, and creating new throngs of “Faye-natics!” “DRUNK WITH LOVE is INTOXICATING!” Bay Area Reporter, San Francisco. “Genecco swings San Francisco like it's Las Vegas!” San Francisco Examiner. “Frisky, retro fun!” Time Out New York Magazine. On March 20th, 2012, Genecco released her second CD recorded live over two sets on October 26, 2012 at The Iridium Jazz Club in New York City where she has been the monthly headliner since March of 2009. TERESE GENECCO & HER LITTLE BIG BAND: LIVE FROM THE IRIDIUM NYC is a glimpse into the energy and excitement that this group creates each time they take the stage at “the home that Les Paul built” in the heart of the Broadway theater district in midtown Manhattan. in 2012, Genecco took home more honors from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (the new award for “Show Of The Year” and one for “Major Artist-Female or Duo”) and picked up another Bistro Award for her involvement with NYC jazz vocalist Shaynee Rainbolt in their 95th Birthday Tribute to Russell Garcia along with Broadway and concert performer Billy Stritch. Genecco has traveled the world with her little big band bringing the swinging sounds of the 1950s and '60s Vegas showrooms along with her to new and appreciative crowds of big band vocal jazz and pop fans.
