Steve Jacobson, Guitar





Steve Jacobson is a freelance performer, composer, and educator. Pursuing courses in jazz guitar, theory and composition, he earned a Bachelor of Music from Cornish College of the Arts and a Master of Music from DePaul University. Steve has worked professionally in jazz, blues, R&B, rock, country and musical theatre. Recordings include Olympia Live (Cadence Jazz Records) with trumpeter Barbara Donald, Big Band Basie and Clark Terry’s Express (Reference Recordings) with DePaul’s Jazz Ensemble I, and Darkness Into Light (a caldera productions) with bassist Phil Brown. Parts Unknown, Steve’s debut album, was recorded with the assistance of a grant from the City of Chicago and the Illinois Arts Access Program. Recently, he has performed with the Joliet Junior College Faculty Jazz Quintet, the Southland Jazz Ensemble, with bassist Phil Brown in the duo FourOnSix, and with the Steve Jacobson Quartet.



Currently, Steve is adjunct faculty at Joliet Junior College, teaching jazz guitar and fundamentals of music.
