About Me

Ted is a drummer / percussionist lliving in Los Angeles. An alumni of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA gave him the tools on a technical level, but he feels that drummers need to think more musically than most music schools teach. With an emphasis on musicality and feel alongside the knowledge that technical prowess should enhance a drummers musicality and not detract from it, Ted aims to educate fellow drummers on musical playing.

With influences from John Bonham to Tikii Fullwood to Fritz Hauser, Gerry Hemingway and Han Bennink, Ted aims to not only open the students ears, but also show them how such seemingly disparate influences and styles of playing can directly influence their playing, whether it be rock/pop, funk, jazz or beyond.

Each lesson will focus on not only rudiments and independence exercises, but also listening to musical examples of playing to make the student fully aware of the musical world surrounding them, allowing them to play the drumset as an instrument and not only a timekeeper.

Ted has played or recorded in a large variety of musical settings including rock, jazz, funk and avant-garde.

Ted is a member of the Percussive Arts Society.
