fluent improvisor and jouneyman vocalist adhd - getting off the ground at 60

About Me

I have, like many, absorbed the classics and survey my contemporaries' efforts to expand the art form - jazz; my efforts to consolidate a sentiment is finally bearing fruit. This medium, the internet, allows some of my talents to coalesce into single broadcasts from live sessions, and this is inspiring new ideas for future efforts. I grew up in a farming environment, and the one of four children that continued practicing the art form, music - into adulthood. I was lucky to be exposed to great living jazz artists in high school, and surviving the tumult of the cold war. My mother encouraged a gospel harmony experience, and my teen years included a horn/funk collaboration. In order to attend our jazz group, marching band was required; a heavy tenor sax developed endurance I would later appreciate. Clarinet was my first woodwind, but I credit earlier piano and vocal instruction to appreciating all the wonderment within.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz; I discovered Stan Getz 'Bossa Nova' whilst baby-stting next door; already 'my sisters would buy the vinyl of the 'mid-century' musicals and I got to attend the best high-school jazz band in the state - there in my home town, Corona; I was indeed fortunate jamming with challenging musicians also studying the indigenous art-form, "Jazz" .
