About Me

Ian Rapien is a talented, highly-stylized tenor and soprano saxophone player with a progressive, exuberant sound. He, along with his unpredictable and free-flowing quartet composed of New York city Jazz Luminaries, have shared the stage with world notables such as John Scofield, Hiromi, and Kenwood Denard. Together they have a sound that Jazziz magazine described as “a blur between jazz, electronica, progressive rock, and jam-band styles, a cross between Miles Davis, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and the Dave Mathews Band.”
